Clau will wear this during her haldi ceremony, wrapped in the warmth of turmeric, laughter, and the playful chaos of blessings offered by loved ones. It is made for the moment she steps into the sunlight, glowing, surrounded by hands that love her—and this time, those very hands are already part of her garment’s story.

WELCOME TO CLAU’s
CO-CREATION JOURNEY
Clau’s Haldi Ensemble – A Canvas of Joy and Self-Expression

The Vision
This piece began with Clau herself—her art, her colors, her expressive strokes. The haldi outfit was envisioned not just as something she would wear, but as something that would carry her essence. Her original drawing became the heartbeat of the design, transformed into a vivid print that feels alive with motion, memory, and celebration. It is an ensemble that honors her creativity, her roots, and her desire to bring something deeply personal into the ritual of haldi.
Drawing it into Form

The ensemble takes shape in two parts: a structured, shimmering blouse with ethereal organza sleeves, and a full skirt that becomes a sweeping gallery of her artwork. The skirt transitions from warm haldi-like tones to deeper layered hues, creating a landscape of color and emotion. Handprints—echoes of her own life, her community, her heritage—appear in the pattern, making it feel both spontaneous and intentional.
Artisans Begin Crafting

Once her art was translated into fabric, artisans stepped in with reverence. They followed the contours of her strokes, placing beadwork where the light would naturally dance. Each section of the skirt was handled like a painting; seams were aligned so the artwork flowed uninterrupted. The handprints were preserved and highlighted, treated almost like sacred marks telling their own story.
The Final Piece

The completed haldi ensemble is a radiant merging of Clau’s inner world and the joy of the ceremony ahead. It is wearable art—alive with beads, color, movement, and meaning. When she walks into her haldi in this piece, she brings her own story with her, wrapped not just in fabric, but in creativity, authenticity, and the hands—literal and symbolic—that have shaped her journey.
