Ben envisioned a piece that felt like a quiet declaration—something grounded in everyday ease yet touched with unmistakable individuality. He wanted a shirt he could step into as he steps into a new phase of his wardrobe: intentional, craft-rooted, and carrying a trace of story in every stitch. The gingham became his starting point, a classic pattern reimagined through softness of tone and the presence of hand embroidery that makes the familiar feel entirely personal.
Drawing it into Form
The artisans begin by mapping the silhouette against the gingham grid, ensuring balance and symmetry. Then the hand embroidery is sketched lightly, its curves and lines intentionally contrasted against the geometry beneath. Every stitch is placed slowly, creating raised forms that invite touch.
