They were symbols of divinity, resurrection and transformation

The First to

Walk on Land

Before trees reached for the sky, it was fungi who stepped first from ocean to earth. In partnership with algae, they seeded forests — sculpting the green world we now breathe.

Prototaxites — the giant prehistoric fungus (8 m) tall

Algae fossil - fungi partnered with algae to seed early forests.

The Living Algorithm

Beneath our feet runs the oldest trading network on the planet — mycelium.

A ceaseless flow of minerals, water, and energy, balancing life with an elegance no human system has matched.

Mycelium diagram — a scientific illustration showing hyphae networks.

Microscopic fungal spore drawing — representing the ancient “trading packets” of nutrients.

Keepers of

Life & Death

Fungi are the gatekeepers of cycles of life and death. They dissolve what has ended & fertilise the ground. Every forest floor, every fertile field, every rebirth carries their signature.

Bracket fungi (Ganoderma) — classic decomposers on fallen wood.

Saprobic mushroom -
species that thrive on decay (like Coprinus comatus).

Portals for Consciousness

Some whisper mushrooms were the “software update” our ancestors needed — sparking language, myth, & imagination. Across cultures, they were revered as portals: teōnanácatl in Mesoamerica, Soma in Vedic hymns, symbols in Egypt. Always, they opened windows to the divine.

Soma -sacred drink (linked to psychoactive fungi by some scholars)

Aztec teōnanácatl-
Mesoamerican mushroom symbolism.

Survivors & Restorers

Through every mass extinction, fungi endured. From cordyceps pruning ant colonies, to mushrooms now digesting plastics and cleansing oil spills — they remain nature’s quiet restorers.

Plastic-eating mushroom (Pestalotiopsis microspora) — discovered in the Amazon.

Cordyceps militaris — parasitic fungus sprouting from an insect.

The Blueprint for the Future

Even our greatest inventions echo their design. The internet mirrors the nutrient flows of mycelium. Bitcoin follows the same decentralized path. As we dream of sustainable systems, the blueprint is already beneath our feet. The most resilient, regenerative, and successful system on this planet is — and always has been — the mycelial web.

Medicinal Intelligence

Mushrooms like reishi and lion’s mane have been used for centuries to boost immunity, calm inflammation, and sharpen the mind. They’re adaptogens — nature’s way of helping us heal and rebalance.

Culinary Richness

From smoky morels to delicate enoki, mushrooms bring deep umami, texture, and nourishment to kitchens around the world — a true gourmet gift from the forest floor.

Ecological Architects

Mushrooms decompose the dead to feed the living. Beneath our feet, their mycelium networks restore soil, connect trees, and quietly hold ecosystems together.

Material of the Future

Mycelium — the root-like body of mushrooms — can be grown into leather, bricks, and biodegradable packaging. It’s not just sustainable — it’s regenerative, intelligent, and circular by design.

At Morni, we see mushrooms not as symbols of novelty, but as beings of intelligence and grace. Our mission is to lift them out of the shadows of festival clichés and into the reverence they deserve — through garments that honor their timeless wisdom.

From everyday wear to ceremonial robes, we have built one of the world’s most unique libraries of mushroom clothing. Each piece is crafted with the belief that the earth’s oldest architects deserve nothing less than the highest form of expression.

Modern Biology X Morni

Modern Biology X Morni

The mycelium web has a way of weaving kindred spirits together. It brought us to Modern Biology, an artist who gives fungi a voice through living sound.

What began as crafting his stage attire soon grew into Taste Sound — a multi-sensory rite where mushrooms could be worn, eaten, and heard all at once. An evening where music, flavor, and fabric dissolved the boundary between humans and fungi.

MushMor doesn’t walk the streets of Earth—they exist in the ether of pure imagination, where visions roam free, unbound by doubt, fear, or expectation. They are the keeper of ideas, the whisperer of dreams, the muse nudging you toward expression.
